"Catholic" Speaker of the House Nancy (pump em full of chemicals) Pelosi decided to open her mouth on national TV on Sunday.
I would just like to point out that Catholics are obligated to go to mass on Sunday and that Pelosi either went to mass on Saturday, skipped mass all together or even worse, went to mass to worship Christ and then went out propagandizing the antithesis of His work. Can anybody tell me why there are people who insist on being Catholic but who exert so much energy to undermine her teachings? I was baptized Catholic in 1997 and have come to realize that my 12 year, anti-Catholic, public school education was designed by people who think and speak in the way that Nancy Pelosi does. If House Speaker Pelosi is going to continue to use the open airwaves to spread teachings that fly in the face of the church that she claims to be a part of, then we as a community need to stand up and collectively tell her "No, you are wrong!"
You don't need to look far on the internet to find authentic Catholic teaching on contraception.

Here's some of what the Pope has to say in his January 1st letter to us.
"Nor must it be forgotten that, since the end of the Second World War, the world's population has grown by four billion, largely because of certain countries that have recently emerged on the international scene as new economic powers, and have experienced rapid development specifically because of the large number of their inhabitants. Moreover, among the most developed nations, those with higher birth-rates enjoy better opportunities for development. In other words, population is proving to be an asset, not a factor that contributes to poverty."
Here are 2 videos by Dr. Janet Smith. Here is a woman who knows the Catholic Church's TRUE teaching.

The Vatican on Youtube!
The Vatican's youtube channel
http://www.youtube.com/vatican
Let's be diligent at promoting this work on Youtube! Since the mainstream media is persistant in it's efforts of blacking out the presence of the Catholic Church in the world, it is our job to use alternative forms of communication to evangelize the world. Thank God the Vatican has stepped into this very powerful digital arena. With the TRUE teachings of Rome becoming more and more accessible every day, there are fewer and fewer excuses for a Catholic who do not know their faith!
"As we know, in the world of communications, contrasting voices make themselves heard as well. That's why its all the more important that this voice exists, a voice that really puts itself at the service of the truth, of Christ, and thus serves peace and reconciliation in the world "
-Benedict XVI : in the media, a voice in service of peace
Fr. Pat Egan sent me this email today...
Fr. Lombardi announced the creation of a new Vatican channel on YouTube, through which various forms of video news will be available concerning the activities of the Pope and events in the Vatican. The site will be updated with one or two news pieces each day, none longer than two minutes, he said. For the moment, the languages available are English, Spanish, German and Italian.

The web page of the new channel, he explained, contains various links via which the visitor can find more information and documentation on the Pope, the Vatican and the Catholic Church. The main links connect to the multi-lingual web pages of CTV and Vatican Radio, to the Vatican and to the new site of Vatican City State. "Of particular importance", said Fr. Lombardi, "is the link to H2O News which transmits other video news items on the life of the Church in the world".
He went on: "Further links under the main video give access to other Vatican news sources: in each linguistic sub-channel is a link to the web page of Vatican Radio in that language, to the web page of the Holy See Press Office Bulletin (with complete texts in original language), and to that language's edition of the 'Osservatore Romano' newspaper".
In the light of the possibility offered by YouTube to exchange information, establish relationships, etc., "we will consider how best to administer this 'global' flow of comments and replies", said the Holy See Press Office Director.
"The Pope", he concluded, "was personally informed of our project, and gave his approval with his usual courtesy and graciousness. For us this is a great encouragement".

A C.A.T. Must be Fair
I have to go after Shawn Hannity from Fox News. This youtube video was posted a while ago and I don't know if Hannity has recanted from his position. We Catholics have to stick to Catholic Teaching. It makes the most sense even from a purely secular view.
NFP is nothing like Contraception
In NFP you don't have sex when a woman is ovulating. With the pill you make a woman's body think it is chemically pregnant so that that you can have sex. With a condom you put on a plastic barrier so that you can have sex. Having sex is the focus of contraception. Having a relationship with another human being is the focus of NFP.
Sex is just one of many activities that a married couple engage in together and there is no requirement that they always be engaging in it.
NFP is always open to the possibility of generating life with the act of sex. Contraception is always trying to prevent life from happening.
NFP promotes awareness of a woman's reproductive system. Contraception is harmful to a woman's body and the creators of contraception want women to be ignorant of the effects of contraceptives on their body and on the environment.
CATs should watch out for Fox News
Though I am pleased that Fox News reports on important subjects that the mainstream media purposefully tries to avoid, I think all Catholics should be extra critical of this station because of its Catholic members and their vocation to the media. We are called to rebuke sinners. When
Shawn Hannity proclaims false teaching over the airwaves, it is our duty to know the facts and tell him why he is wrong. Keep an eye out for Bill O'Reilly as well. Remember the 3rd spiritual work of mercy. Feel free to exercise it on me if I err.

Will They Read It?

Well, today is the celebration of the world day of peace and the pope has a message for all Catholics. It is a poverty message. Poverty was a topic of great concern at the Democratic National Convention. I wonder how well received this message will be among certain Democrat "Catholics".
The C.A.T. will be reading the pope's document "Fighting Poverty to Build Peace", and hopefully posting a summary when I'm done.
